AKA 48 Meters Down, AKA 47 Meters Down: The Next Chapter

Takes place in the backpacking mecca of Brazil, against the backdrop of the country’s vibrant culture, party atmosphere and beautiful beaches. A group of five girls from different backgrounds and countries are united by their lust for life and adventure in the coastal metropolis of Recife. Looking to get off the well-worn tourist trail, they hear about a hidden underwater ruin from a local guide and seize the opportunity to discover their own Atlantis beneath the turquoise waves. Unbeknownst to them, the caves where the forgotten city lies are not completely uninhabited, and as they swim deeper into the submerged labyrinth of caves they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean.

Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures distributes in the US.

Corinne Foxx is the daughter of actor Jamie Foxx.
Sistine Stallone is the daughter of actor Sylvester Stallone.
One of the producer’s was quoted saying: “48 Meters Down will take the claustrophobia of cave diving and the thrill of shark encounters and move everything to the next level.”
Previously known as 48 Meters Down and 47 Meters Down: The Next Chapter.
While the first film was set in Mexico, it’s said that this sequel is set in Brazil.
Johannes Roberts returns to co-write and direct.
This is the sequel to the shark thriller 47 Meters Down, which starred Mandy Moore and Claire Holt.
47 Meters Down: Uncaged was scheduled to be released on June 28, 2019 but this has been put back to August 16 to avoid a clash with Annabelle 3.
