Unread post by Krappy » 2 months ago

Swamp Thingis a 2019 streaming series from James Wan’s company Atomic Monster in association with Warner Bros. Television. The first episodes are being directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld), Toa Fraser, Michael Goi and E.L. Katz. The series, based on the DC characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson, is written by “Ash vs. Evil Dead” writer Mark Verheiden and IT co-writer Gary Dauberman.

The series stars Jennifer Beals (The Bride), Virginia Madsen (Candyman), Crystal Reed (MTV’s Teen Wolf)Derek Mears (Friday the 13th), and Derek Mears (Friday the 13th) as Swamp Thing himself. Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog), who starred in the 80s film version of Swamp Thing, is also slated to appear in the series.

Swamp Thingcenters on CDC researcher Abby Arcane. When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

Swamp Thingwill be premiering exclusively on DC’s streaming platform beginning May 31st.
